L.E. Schwaller

L.E. Schwaller is a storyteller who finds meaning in the quiet resilience of ordinary people. His work explores themes of memory and the complex connections that shape our lives, focusing on the moments that define us even when we don’t see them coming.

Born in the Ozarks and educated at Rockhurst University and Creighton, Schwaller’s writing has been honored with the Carol Muske-Dukes Award and Rambunctious Review’s Short Story Prize. His debut novel, The Third Sunday of Every June (Ten16 Press, June 2025).

After marrying into it, Schwaller now calls Wisconsin home, where he spends his winters complaining about the cold to his wife and two children. Outside of writing, he can be found coaching youth hockey, embracing the challenges of parenthood, and looking for the next
great story to tell.
